Students

Press Pass Mentors is an 18-month mentoring program for low-income students at public and charter schools in Washington D.C., who aspire to attend college. Students enter our program early in their junior year and stay with us through high school graduation.

Anu Omole

THURGOOD MARSHALL ACADEMY

Anu Omole is a junior at Thurgood Marshall Academy who enjoys sports, debate, reading and the arts, particularly dancing and music. She has three siblings. She's interested in becoming either a lawyer or a journalist when she's older.

Chabria A. Myers

THURGOOD MARSHALL ACADEMY

Chabria A. Myers is a junior at Thurgood Marshall Academy. She enjoys drawing, anime, music, skateboarding and sports. She appreciates all the support from her mom and family and in the future is interested in becoming a performing artist, photographer, psychologist and digital and visual artist

Christian Sturdivant

KIPP DC: COLLEGE PREP

Christian Sturdivant is 17 years old and attends KIPP. He lives with his mother and three siblings and enjoys playing basketball in his free time. He hopes to someday attend Syracuse to study fashion design.

Copeland Barbee

THURGOOD MARSHALL ACADEMY

Copeland Barbee attends Thurgood Marshall Academy where he's currently a junior. He enjoys creative writing. He has a half-brother who lives in Colorado and two dogs who live at home. He's interested in attending the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and majoring in communications.

Diamond Patrick

Diamond Patrick is a junior at Thurgood Marshall Academy. She lives with her mother and two younger brothers and enjoys listening to old school music. She hopes to someday work as a triage nurse.

Dymond Mattison

Dymond Mattison attends Thurgood Marshall Academy where she's a junior. She hopes to someday attend Georgetown and study childhood development. She enjoys hanging around her friends and good vibes and is interested in improving her writing.

Ja'Von Barnes

Ja'Von Barnes is a junior Thurgood Marshall Academy. He enjoys playing sports and video games and has recently taken an interest in photography. He lives with his mother and sister and is interested in one day becoming a computer engineer.

Jhayda Johnson

THURGOOD MARSHALL ACADEMY

Jhayda Johnson is in the 11th grade at Thurgood Marshall Academy. She enjoys playing video games and her favorite sport is basketball. She has three sisters and two borthers. When she's older, she's interested in becoming a sports agent.

Talia Ford

THURGOOD MARSHALL ACADEMY

Talia Ford is a junior at Thurgood Marshall Academy who takes AP and honors classes. She is interested in law and her future goals consist of attending Spelman College with a double major in psychology and sociology with a minor in English. She's interested in becoming either an entertainer or a prosecutor.

Taloni McKinney attends E.L. Haynes and is in the 11th grade. She lives with her mom, a dog named Spike and a cat named Yoona. She's interested in Korean culture and traveling. In the future, she hopes to attend culture, find her passion in life and study abroad.
